It is time to take a closer look at the main Prague destinations that none of the hundreds of tourists visiting the Czech Republic can miss! On August 3, students of the International Union of Youth went to view the Prague Castle, which they could already observe from the deck of the ship during the evening trip on Vltava. In addition to the architectural value that the castle complex bears, it is also an important place from a political point of view ñ this is where the largest residence of the President of the Czech Republic is located. Students noticed that the whole center of Prague resembles a huge open-air museum: there is a magnificent St. Vitus Cathedral, the residence of the Archbishop of Prague, where precious jewels are kept ñ their owners once held high positions at the royal court. Initially, the cathedral was built in the Gothic style, but over time, during the course of numerous restorations, the structure was slightly modified and ñappropriatedñ several more features from different architectural styles. Students also visited Hradcany ñ the historical district of Prague surrounding the castle complex. And how could they miss the main historical attraction of the Mala Strana, about which students also learned a lot of new things on the tour? The Church of St. Mikulas is also situated there. MSM students passed by both the Strahov Monastery built in the 12th century and the Tuscan Palace. Despite the fact that the tour lasted just a couple of hours, MSM students enjoyed this educational walk, took beautiful photos for their social networks on the observation deck and gained new knowledge about the history of the Czech Republic.
